Management Models by the Police: Advantages and Disadvantages

Abstract

In my paper, I briefly describe the role of the police in modern democracy. Furthermore, strategic goals such as legitimate police operation or public confidence. I present the development of the Hungarian police: from the authoritarian police to the society-integrated police. Then I sum up the benefits and disadvantages of centralized and society-integrated police. Lastly, I present the legitimacy and confidence-building transparency tools (indicators). Which can legitimately be supported by a modern, democratic and police who want to meet the challenges of the age.
