Abstract
"The stereotypes, that remained in the western political elite, media and public opinion, saying that Russia is a piteous, declining, disintegrating, retrograde ex-superpower struggling with identity problems and if it still manages to show some development, it can only be regarded as that of an 'aggressive minipower' ‒ have become outdated. The reality shows Putin's new Russia should more and more be considered in international relations as a developing superpower, which ‒ with a more and more mature identity and on strengthening economic powers ‒ will grow stronger in validating its national interests."
