Strategic Communication: Focus on the State and the Force

Abstract

After the 9/11 terror attacks the term “strategic communication” became widely used by political and military leaders as well. As a result, nowadays there are many definitions in usage to describe it; however, we are still facing lots of challenges if we want to understand the real meaning of this term. For a better understanding
and based on the research done so far, the author sees an understanding of strategic communication based on its defining events, personalities, as well as its tools and
procedures. Based on a brief, concise presentation of these, the author concludes that the most important actors in the content components of this topic are the state and the armed forces.
