Abstract
The discipline of modern social science often placed the study of stigmatisation in the centre of attention in the second part of the 20th century. The concept of ‘label’ or stigma is not unfamiliar in history, its complexity requires interdisciplinary research during the process of its exploration. Its actuality is provided by the encounters of the majority of the society with foreign ethnic groups due to international migration. Owing to this phenomenon we often meet stigmatisation of foreign ethnic groups by the majority of the society as a reaction. The objective of this paper is to reveal - with the aid of related literature - those current characteristic features of social science, sociology, psycho-sociology, which include the most significant patterns of the development of the process of stigmatisation.
