Armed Forces and Organisation of the Military Supported by Social Media

Abstract

It is a trite issue that media and media consumption has changed, but it is still true. In the last few years the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) restructured its relationship with the Israeli society and the international community. The directing principle was how to develop and show a well structured and flawless picture towards the public. The army of the start-up nation was fearless and started to use – and uses to this day – the modern and innovative equipment of social media. In the study I will use the IDF’s media as an example of evolving a professional mass media system for modern armies.
