Distributing Learning in the C-IED Discipline

Abstract

At the beginning of the XXI century the Countering Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED) tasks were very important in NATO missions. Every C-IED mission has been connected to the three essential C-IED pillars. Since 2010, when the C-IED COE was established in Madrid, Spain, it has been taken in a significant role in the NATO C-IED activities. One of the main tasks of the C-IED COE is to provide, run and lead different C-IED courses. Gaining experience from the past years training events, and in accordance with NATO request, the C-IED COE examined and analyzed the adult learning styles and the possibilities of the distributed learning (e-Learning). The outcome of the analytical activities was that the C-IED COE has introduced the new ADL e-Learning tools into its C-IED courses.
