Abstract
In the forthcoming study I would like to showcase one of the world's most special
correctional facilities, Halden Prison. It is very special regarding both it's appearance and the attitude towards the process of rehabililtation, thus highly differs from the majority of these institutions and their traditional views on incarceration.
In the first section I will showcase Halden's brief history, it's founding, the facility itself and it's basic characteristics, followed by a section about the convicts everyday lives and the milieu they are living in. In order to do so I will present the job opportunities given to the convicts along with the educational and vocal trainingoptions and the ways they are able to spend their free time.
