Abstract
2018 can be the year of chance for the Western Balkans. On 6th February 2018, the European Union announced its new strategy, which offers credible enlargement perspectives for Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. Bosnia has one of the most complicated integration paths among them. The country has been struggling with internal security challenges since 1995, and the EU demands reforms. For Bosnia, the Dayton Peace Agreement provides tight space for maneuver, so the internal integration of the state could not have been established. The analysis focuses on Bosnia and Herzegovina's European integration aspirations and the internal security challenges of the state, furthermore compose possible conclusions for the dual federation state-run system.
