Abstract
On 26 June 2016 Federica Mogherini, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy sent the EU Global Strategy on foreign and security policy (Shared Vision, Common Action: A Stronger Europe. A Global Strategy for the European Union’s Foreign and Security Policy) to the Member States. As Mogherini was mandated by the European Council to do so, the approximately 60-pages long EU Global Strategy on foreign and security policy has been elaborated under the supervision and leadership of the HR/VP. The new EU Global Strategy presented by Mogherini was welcomed by the European Council on 28 June 2016. The European Council invited the High Representative, the Commission and the Council to take the work forward, to start the implementation process. The main message of the EUGS is that EU citizens and the word itself need a Stronger Europe. The document is divided into four chapters: 1) shared interests, 2) the principles guiding external actions, 3) priorities of external actions and 4) from vision to action.
