The Latest Developments in the Iranian Oil and Gas Sectors

Abstract

This paper uses historical and geographical data to understand the geopolitical environment of Iran making it possible to assess the opportunities of the Iranian energy industry. Considering the prospects in the Iranian hydrocarbon sector, one can have only low expectations: the most probable scenario is that there will be a slow and continuous transformation. The greatest growth potential lies in the natural gas sector in Iran, but this amount will not be enough to meet the requirements of all the three possible directions for export.
