Abstract
The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive picture concerning the reactions of the political leadership and the population to the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war in Romania’s neighbourhood, and its impact on the political, economic and security of the country. The analysis focuses in particular on Romania’s political position concerning the war, on the issue of humanitarian and military aid provided to Ukraine. At the same time, it also seeks to examine how the changed situation brought about by the war has presented new security and geopolitical challenges for the Romanian government and the leadership of the armed forces.
