The Geopolitical Significance of the Arctic in the 21st Century

Abstract

In the Arctic, we can expect a new security policy challenge. The region seems to be appreciating and is becoming the scene of geopolitics. Global climate change greatly appreciates the importance of the region and changes the geopolitical balance of power. The purpose of this study is to present the power games in the Arctic and the consequences of global warming in the region. In addition, the geostrategic position of the area, its natural, social, economic and military conditions and its impact on security will be examined.
