The Establishment of Security in Space Traffic

doi: 10.32563/hsz.2020.4.4

Abstract

The importance of outer space is growing nowadays. For peaceful or military purposes, several countries launch satellites, and the exploitation of outer space by artificial devices is an ongoing process. The human desire for knowledge is pushing the borders beyond the atmosphere, as expressed by to the famous citation of Tsiolkovsky: ‘Mankind will not forever remain on Earth but, in the pursuit of light and space, will first timidly emerge from the bounds of the atmosphere and then advance until he has conquered the whole of circumsolar space.’ However, it is a growing problem that the launched devices are damaged, they collide with each other or with other celestial bodies, thus exposing space to a constant danger; the outer space has become an increasingly dangerous place. The traffic of outer space is less regulated, notwithstanding a lot of regulations have already been enacted in compliance with security, which is essential for human life and national defence.
