Developing Defense Capabilities Today

Abstract

Over the last half-century, the Hungarian Defense Forces has defended the interests and values of the country on the basis of various theories and strategic concepts. Home defense and collective defense, crisis response, and peace operations have come up with the same or different priorities when the military force was deploied. However, the country's economic capacity has always hampered parallel developments. Nowadays, as a result of the new types of threats released a few years ago, the development of home defense and collective defense capabilities has become a priority. Some of the accumulated experience of the past half century can provide orientation points for the development of today's defense capability with appropriate adaptation.
