Abstract
In 1959, during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco, the organisation ‘Basque Fatherland and Liberty’ was established. Its goal had been to fight for the self-determination and the reunification of the Basque territories. The difficulties of setting up the goals and the difference of interests resulted in break-ups and the creation of new organisations under the banner of the ETA. As a result of the methods used by the commandos, they managed to blow up the Spanish Prime Minister’s, Luis Carrero Blanco’s car. After their acts, massive demonstrations started demanding to suspend the ETA’s activities.
