Abstract

The Lajos Lőrincz Research Centre for Public Law was founded in 2010 by the professors and the students of the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary. The aim of this essay is to introduce the activities of this Centre and remind us of the most prominent representative of the near past of the science of Hungarian public administration: Lajos Lőrincz, who was the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary and also a full member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. This paper consciously refers to the values represented by Lajos Lőrincz and retained by the members of the given Centre. These values are, on the one hand, the efforts to open up the results of Hungarian administrative sciences more widely and, on the other hand, to become more aware of those fields of administrative sciences that are “beyond” administrative law.
