Abstract
The study analyses the transformation of Hungarian security perception between 1999 and 2019, based on the results of three social surveys conducted in 1999, 2008 and 2019. The surveys focused primarily on four related areas: the conceptualisation of security; the importance and the perceived level of security within various sectors; the responsibility of decision-making in the field of security and defence policy; and the value preferences of the Hungarian society.
