The The Russia Policy of the Biden Administration’s First Six Months

Abstract

The study intends to assess the new U.S. administration’s Russia policy in light of the press releases of the parties, the Geneva summit and other major events of the past six months that proved to be relevant to the U.S.–Russia relationship. First, the author presents the expectations of the Russian foreign policy experts toward the 2020 U.S. elections, then introduces the first steps of the Biden Administration in the field of Russia policy and the Russian reception thereof. The analysis enumerates the events leading up to the Geneva summit in June 2021, and based on the American and Russian statements evaluates the achievements of the summit.
