Abstract
After his election in March 2018, Abiy Ahmed has started fundamental transformation in Ethiopia. The new Prime Minister launched such reforms in different fields (economy, foreign policy, democratisation etc.) which were previously unimaginable. The process was iccompanied by strong optimism both in the country and abroad. Nevertheless, the emerging challenges as ethnic violence and the strong positions of the old guard endanger the successes of the reforms.
