Abstract

Chile is one of the destination countries chosen by people who want to find a better future within Latin America, for example Haitians, who constitute a new migration group. The main objective of this study is to analyse the current trends and the challenges related to Haitian migration in Chile, as well as future scenarios through the sectoral security theory (Copenhagen School: Wæver, Buzan and de Wilde) with a focus on the societal sector, ranging from the securitisation of the situation by society to the emergency measures taken by the state.
