Strategic Questions and Opportunities of Countering the “Islamic State”

Abstract

The study focuses on the questions regarding the reasons for the birth and factors of the evolution of the ‘Islamic State’; what is the nature of the threat posed by the radical organization; and what tools does the international community have to counter it? The analysis is set at the strategic level, comprehensively overviewing the causal effects and relations based on the international literature.
