Abstract
In the last month the discussion about the Libyan conflict appeared both in the speeches of Hungarian politicians and the media. Furthermore, some analyses have also been published. Considering the events of the last five years numerous opinions state that foreign intervention was a failure and Western powers have generated a conflict zone to their own loss. The current analysis tries to set straight some misconceptions in connection with the crisis and examine the main factors which contribute to the prolongation of the civil war.
