Foreign and Security Policy Think Tanks in East Central Europe

Abstract

The Global Go To Think Tank Index has been compiled by the Think Tanks and Civil Society Program in cooperation with the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania since 1989 and published online since 2008 as an international evaluation of the role of think tanks in governmental and non-governmental spheres. Think tanks dealing with various fields, including national and international security, globalization and international economy are included and ranked in the Index. Nemzet és Biztonság is to offer a review of several institutions that are relevant for the defence sphere in its 2017 issues, regarding their work portfolio, and background, as well as the resources and services they offer. On the one hand, these resources are deemed valuable for individual research, while on the other hand getting to know the best international practices also serves the development of Hungarian think tanks. The aim of the current article is to offer such review of a selection of East Central European foreign and security policy think tanks.
