The European Union and the Middle East

Abstract

The first part of the study mainly represents the European Union’s policy towards the Mediterranean, but, from time to time, the Middle East is also mentioned separately. It addresses the relations of the two regions, with special focus on the Mediterranean, the different tools and agreements regarding Europe in general and the European Union in particular. Essentially, the study focuses on the European Union’s security policy towards the Southern region. All this proves that the Mediterranean is and will remain one of the most important regions for the EU.
