Abstract
During the composition of this short essay, it was half a century ago that the Soviet Union, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and the Non Warsaw Pact Yugoslavia severed the diplomatic relations with Israel on the ground of the Israeli preemptive strike in the prelude of the Six-Day War. The end of the diplomatic representation also meant the expulsion of the intelligence services of the Eastern Bloc. True, except for the Russian and the Bulgarian intelligence, no substantial and enduring success was ever achieved by any of them. Our thesis aims at presenting a potential explanation for these failures.
