Abstract

Austria is the Chairmanship of the OSCE for the year 2017. Austria's fundamental goals are in line with the OSCE's general aspirations, namely „greater security and stability in Europe by providing greater confidence in cooperation, predictability and approach to some tasks”. However, at the beginning of the year Austria in view of the current threats and security challenges within the framework of its Presidency has achieved its three objectives. These are the contributions to solving the existing conflicts, the struggle aga-inst radicalization and extremism, and restore the trust and confidence. Aim of this paper is to outline of these priorities (goals) time-proportional. This paper is a result of the partial search. The research topic is the role of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in today’s European security architecture. This writing gives a partial summaries of the Austrian OSCE Presidency period, which ends on 31 December 2017.
