Life Sentence without the Possibility of Parole from the Aspect of Prevention

Abstract

In my essay I deal with life sentence without the possibility of parole, its statutory background and its presence in the international setting. I also study the judgements of the European Court of Human Rights which are relevant to Hungary and to our topic. Primarily, I intend to answer the question whether this sanction fulfils its purpose in the fields of special and general prevention.
