Human Trafficking in Mass Migration
Abstract
With the emergence of mass migration, the activity of human traffickers has also increased. The analysis of completed human trafficking cases shows that the committing of this crime is extended in space and it is carried out not only across the external Schengen borders but also in the area of free movement and across internal borders. Based on border policing experience and statistical data, the study examines the impact the integrated measures (taken to manage this rapidly evolving security challenge) had on the intensity and modi operandi of people smuggling.
