Abstract

The Handbook of Otmar Luif OSB is of great relevance today. Otmar Luif was a monk of Saint Benedict in Győr, he was a respectable teacher and a highly religious person. His handbook is an important proof of his verified teachings. For him, to choose the Christian way of life was not an opportunity but mainly a response to the difficulties of everyday life. Reading the texts, we should recognise the importance of our inner silence; the words of the monk give us indirect predictions to reveal our subjective axioms about important moral axioms and show us how we could live a better and useful life in community. This volume is more than a religious text, it was written as a high-quality philosophical spiritual guide. The first published version was edited by two previous students of Otmar Luif, Tamás Kőrösi and Tamás Péter in 2012 as a kind of funeral memory. The second edition was printed in 2020.
