Abstract

Military air traffic is constantly growing in our country because of the Zrínyi 2026 Defence and Military Development Programme. The Hungarian Defence Forces operates significant air traffic at regional level with the new and the existing aircraft types. In parallel with the development of the Air Force, the need to develop the military air traffic management system in order to respond to the challenges of the increasing traffic demand has been recognised. The increasing training and transport flights, the domestic and international exercises that take place in parallel, and the new additional aircraft types in the future will also generate more traffic demand and flow management procedures in the Air Force. The aim of this study is to present the general procedures, phases and technological tools of air traffic flow management, to present the basic flow management procedures in the Hungarian Defence Forces, and to highlight the possible development opportunities.
