Protection of Nuclear Power Plants against Drones

doi: 10.32560/rk.2021.1.7

Abstract

Whether we talk about nuclear power plants or unmanned aerial vehicle systems, both are well-known and divisive twentieth-century concepts. Criticism can be formed in favour of these two technical, technological achievements and / or even against them, but it must be understood
that only those can be successful despite of all appearing obstacles which are needful, moreover for which there is a strong demand. In the publication below, the authors present the relationship between the physical protection of nuclear power plants in a specialised field, such as the nuclear industry, and the dynamically evolving aircraft of our time, unmanned aerial vehicles. From this article, the reader can learn about some of the safety features of nuclear power plants, their vulnerabilities in relation to their construction, and the need and solvability for protection against drones.
