Abstract

In 2018, the new EU regulation (2018/1139) of the common rules in the field of civil aviation and establishing a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (also known as the Basic Regulation) entered into force. The significance of the current Basic Regulation is given by the fact that it devotes a separate section (Section VII) to the unmanned aerial vehicles, extending the regulation of the European Union to the drones with a maximum take-off mass less than 150 kg, which regulation topic was extended by detailed rules. In the article, the authors present the deviations of the Hungarian drone legislation from the EU framework which is in force since January 1, 2021.
