Positioning and Attitude Determination Systems Optimized for Drones

Abstract

The numbers, the sizes, the speeds of flights and the flying altitudes of the different drones, UAV, UAS and RPAS solutions show huge diversity. Regarding this, the number of airframes, engines, launching and landing/recovery systems are also almost vasty. Different applications need different positioning and attitude determination accuracy and other parameters. Therefore big amount of autopilots, positioning and attitude sensors and systems are available. The article would like to introduce some of these tools and systems. The overview is subjective and even don’t try to be complete, - but shouldn’t be anyway.
