Historical Moments of Uav Applications and the Conclusions

Abstract

Ensuring air defence in a country provides a constant challenge to all individuals and organisations carrying out such tasks. One of its particular areas is the all-around protection against explosive devices installed on low-altitude UAVs, referred to as air defence activity. This article provides a detailed analysis of the aspects of the organisation and the initial operation of municipal air defence. Approaching from a historical perspective and regarding the failures of first applications, it will focus on social importance. The article is based on the study and analysis of Hungarian and international professional literature related to the topic and the author’s experience in the field of military history. As a result of this article, it can be declared, that deaths and other accidents in the air by strikes of asymmetric warfare could be prevented in the future by building up a mobile air defence system on a regional basis. That could be deployed as a quick response unit against UAVs.
