Electronic Warfare Applications of Helicopters before the 90s

Abstract
This article presents those applications of helicopters, on which electronic warfare equipment was used. The countries of the Warsaw Pact mainly had Russian equipment, but Hungary had own EW development for helicopters: LEFOGO-1A, LEFOGO-1B and LEFOGO-1C onboard jamming systems. In the article the Russian Mi-17PP EW helicopter, EH-60A Quick-Fix and SOTAS radar system from western countries armament is presented. The R-040 expendable jammer system was dropped from a helicopter above the target area. In the second part of this article the reader can read about new EW helicopters from different countries of world.
