Abstract
The success of a contemporary military operation closely depends on the involved own forces’ quick reaction capability, flexibility; on the benefits which can be gained on the initiation and on the high level of mobility. The structure of operational theatre has changed dramatically since the widespread reflection of guerrilla warfare’s military culture. The successful military operations in such an operating environment request flexible response capability of our forces to the challenges of the tactical situation. It is unquestionable that the above listed capabilities can only be ensured by the use of helicopters. In this study, I would like to introduce the helicopter supported land force combat activities, the main tasks of helicopter service person’s activities delegated today to the light infantry units’ staff for operation planning and coordination of execution.
