The Establishment and Registration Process of Companies in Serbia and its Influence on Competitiveness
Abstract
The study analyses the establishment of companies in Serbia, with particular reference to the registration process and its effectiveness. The formal development of the economic subjects, the registration process and the historical development of the registration bodies will be briefly highlighted, as since the registration of the companies in the Business Registers Agency has increased the efficiency of the registration. Nowadays, the Business Registers Agency is becoming a one stop shop, and in Serbia the number of procedures required for registration and the time and cost of registration of companies are decreasing. The World Bank has also acknowledged Serbia with a higher score for starting a business start-up in the Doing Business rankings. To further facilitate and speed up entries, the electronic registration of the establishment of companies will contribute even more. Its introduction has already been announced in Serbia.
