Abstract

The paper explores the tenets of the major representatives of public finances in the period of economic recovery following the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867, up to the period between the two World Wars. The historical retrospection of the major theorists and events can provide a good basis for interpreting the practical and scientific aspects of today’s public finances.
