Abstract

The Public Service Motivation Theory (PSM) turned up in the USA in the 1990s; following this, European civil services have also applied the PSM concept. In the Hungarian context, a very few studies investigated the PSM concept. One of those prepared a PSM model adapted to Hungarian public service. In this study, we develop and complete this model with job security. We use the PLS-SEM method to analyse the representative database of ISSP. According to our result, job security can be adapted to previous PSM models. We also identify the direct and the indirect effects of job security on the other variables of the model.
