The Framework of State Security Higher Education before the Change of Regime and its Conclusion

Abstract

Whatever field we look at, we can say that education has an extremely important role to play in imparting the knowledge needed to work, and in developing abilities and skills. This is not different in the case of intelligence staff. Of course, the secrecy surrounding these organisations, as well as their activities, tools and methods, is also present in the field of education. In this essay we would like to present the specific features of the Hungarian state security training between 1970 and 1990. The reason for that is that after 30 years, this year the Faculty of Law Enforcement of the University of Public Service awarded diplomas of bachelor’s and master’s degree in civilian national security.
