The Interdependence of Terrorism and Hybrid Warfare

doi: 10.32561/nsz.2020.3.2

Abstract

The negative effects that have occurred in our world (overpopulation, shrinking living space, environmental change, scarcity of raw materials, circumvention and neglection of our own rule sets,  and so on) have all led to an irreversible process that threatens peaceful coexistence. The changes that have taken place have also put pressure on the world order, as a result of which the great powers within it have brought their geopolitical and geostrategic interests to the fore again. Paradoxically, terrorism also appears as a method in the repertoire of self- interest activities of some of the participants who have fought so far to preserve peace and security,  thus threatening themselves. The effects of the fight against terrorism, as well as their outcomes, have changed the circumstances affecting our security. New ways of warfare appeared during armed struggles like asymmetric warfare as well as hybrid warfare.
