Abstract

The study analyses the changing role of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT) within the context of the Turkish power-political competition. It introduces the process of how the organization’s power was extended through various legal amendments. The analysis underlines the challenges of the (intelligence) cooperation between Ankara and its’ NATO allies which are stemming from the highly securitized Turkish political environment.
