The Palestinian–Israeli Conflict – Chances of Reconciliation in the Holy Land

doi: 10.32561/nsz.2019.1.6

Abstract

Although the State of Israel officially only exists since 1948, the start of the Arab–Israeli conflict dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. The nature of the conflict has changed over the past seventy years: the territorial conflict about the Holy Land between the Jews and the Palestinians has evolved into a global conflict in which the whole international community takes part. Besides demonstrating the history of the conflict, the study intends to examine the features of both the Palestinian Popular Resistance and the Israeli settlement policy, and also their impact on the possibility of reconciliation in the Holy Land.
