The Right to Integration of Migrating Child Soldiers

Abstract

The article is about the interpretation of the right for integration stated in the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict. It examines whether it is conditional or depends on the decision of a state authority. Since an armed conflict often puts children’s lives in danger, most of them will be entitled to international protection. But in case they won’t be, they have the right for integration in the signatory of the Convention regardless of the fact that he/she is a former child soldier or not.
