In the Train of the Police “Noir” — Vilmos Kondor Representations

Abstract

Vilmos Kondor’s novel, Budapest Noir gives an authentic picture of the society in Budapest in the 1930s; crime, the operation of the police, the press, the relationship between journalists and the police worked together in perfect harmony, so much so, that we can say that this cooperation worked even better than today. I am going to touch upon the works that inspired Kondor by their authenticity. The contemporary press–police relations — about which we can state that they were not hostile — appear plastically.
