One of the commonly known and recognized essential elements of the right to fair trial is the principle of equality of arms. This principle, fabricated through legal theory and legal practice over time, has the purpose of ensuring that, in criminal proceedings, the prosecution and the defence have equal chances and opportunities to express their opinions and take their positions with regards to factual and legal matters. Even though the application of the principle of equality of arms does not always mean that the prosecution and the defence have completely identical rights, this principle does require that the defence be provided with such rights that is comparable with that of the prosecution.

A tisztességes eljáráshoz való jognak általánosan elismert lényegi eleme a fegyverek egyenlőségének elve.

The reconstruction of a criminal event depends on the testimony of the people involved (victim, suspect and witnesses) and the thorough examination of the available physical evidence. In answering the questions that occur during an investigation, it is mostly the specialists of criminalistics and forensic scientists that may come to our help. Identification is an essential element of criminal investigation. In criminalistics, the term refers to a complex procedure that both identifies an unknown material and also aims to unveil its origins.

Reconstruction has become part both of the investigation and the trial/judicial processes. Even though it is rarely applied, reconstruction is still considered a magnificent measure to strengthen or to rebut the testimony of the defendant or the witness and the assumption of the authority. The study shows how the history led to the conception and independency of the reconstruction, hence its roots can be found in the survey and had been applied within the survey’s framework for decades.

A bizonyítási kísérlet mára részévé vált a nyomozásnak és a bírósági tárgyalásnak is. Bár ritkán alkalmazzák, ennek ellenére jelentős eljárási cselekménynek tekinthető, mert erősíti vagy cáfolja a terhelt vagy a tanú vallomását, illetve a hatóság feltételezését. A tanulmány bemutatja, hogy milyen előzmények vezettek a bizonyítási kísérlet létrejöttéhez és önállóvá válásához, ugyanis a gyökerei a szemlében kereshetőek, évtizedeken keresztül a szemle keretein belül alkalmazták.

The aim of this short review is to demonstrate some of the important changes and transformations (if there have been any) of bias and hatred led communication and behaviour in the last approximately hundred years in Europe’s mainstream history. What is the reason behind hate speech and verbal harassment being so easily transferred to Cyber space? How was it possible and what kind of objective reasons are there in the background to make this progress so natural?

Originally, the aim of this paper was to be a comprehensive methodological article, to make easier to draw the lesson of a particular international training. Later it became clear that the demonstration of importance of the international cooperation on a wider scale is reasonable and desirable to complete and strengthen the topic. Therefore, this paper sets two aims to reach: on the one hand it would like to give a draft overview on the synergic effects and development of international cooperation; on the other hand, it analyses step by step the practical experiences on the organization of an international course.

Nationalisation (1919) was a decisive moment in the life of the Hungarian Police Force, after which, modelled on the Budapest police force, the unified Royal Hungarian State Police was created. After the nationalisation, the leadership of the Ministry of the Interior and of the Police Force paid special attention to the training and supply of the staff. This included the Prime Minister’s decree that regulated the police positions to be filled, the system of training for police non-commissioned officers, the range of theoretical and practical knowledge to be taught, the system of training courses and the examination requirements.

On the 23rd of December 1987 a 2 months old baby disappeared in Budapest. She was in her baby carriage before Hallo Bar. After a year, on the 11th of October 1988 the baby was found. The investigation was successful, the Hungarian police made great efforts. The baby was healthy when she was found. In my paper I analyse the social environment of this case. I analyse unpublished archive materials. In this essay, a specific aspect of life is shown at the end of the 1980's in Hungary.

1987. december 23-án Budapesten a Hallo bár elől elraboltak egy két hónapos csecsemőt. A nyomozás eredményesen zárult, mikor 1988. október 11-én a gyermeket épségben megtalálták és visszaadták a szüleinek. Tanulmányomban eddig feltáratlan levéltári források alapján feldolgoztam a nyomozást, és az eset társadalomtörténeti hátterét. Sajátos látleletet kapunk az 1980-as évek végének világáról. A rendőrség példaszerű nyomozást folytatott, mindent megmozgatott a sikerért.

The aim of this series of papers is to present modern methods of linguistics and language pedagogy concerning specific-purpose language competences and, applying them to English for Border Guards, to describe the English competences to be developed at language courses for border guards in EU member states and to explore the prospects for their improvement. The first part of the series discusses the dilemmas and methodology related to the definition of specific-purpose language competences and to needs analyses, indispensable for language course design in general and their application in the context of English for Border Guards. In the form of a CEF Professional Profile, it also presents the findings of a series of interviews conducted with border guards involved in FRONTEX Joint Operations on how they use specific-purpose English.

This study is to give a brief overview of Hungarian law enforcement, with special respect to local level law enforcement. The operation of centralised state police is influenced by a statistical approach, which is the reason why no capacity remains for serving local communities and dealing with local matters, in spite of a few improvements in the recent years. This void of general security could be filled by local governmental law enforcement. Local governmental law enforcement bodies are founded and financed by the municipalities, with more limited empowerment to enforce the law than that of the police.

Integrity testing was introduced in Hungary in 2011 as an anti-corruption tool in order to control the legal compliance and fulfilment of duties of public servants and law enforcement officers. The present paper provides an overview on legal policy reasons of implementation, its international and Hungarian practice and – based on statistics and a case study – tries to answer the question whether integrity testing lived up to expectations.

The realisation that in order to achieve individual and community goals, people need to divide labour and cooperate, all this needs to be coordinated and organised, i.e. managed and controlled, serves as the basis for management activities. Following this insight, gradually and steadily, management became an increasingly conscious human activity, which today has deservedly been elevated to the status of science. Due to its interdisciplinary nature, the management and organisation science of our times combines the knowledge of education science, psychology, sociology, law and historical science both in its theory and its practice.

This case study reflects how gender linguistic discrepancies emerge from monolingual and bilingual spontaneous speed sequences. It touches upon phonetic, phonological, morphological, syntactical and communicative strategic levels, but highlights data deriving from the frequency of interjections, swear words and syntactical mistakes. The prior objective of the two corpora based study is to prove that bilinguals are more flexible individuals, and therefore less clear cut discrepancies are revealed in the discourse of the two genders.
