Absztrakt
Annak ellenére, hogy napjainkban a terrorizmus az egyik legfontosabb hazai és nemzetközi biztonsági fenyegetés a világban, jelen van a mindennapi társadalmi életben és a rendészeti szervek mindennapi munkájában is, mégsem tudjuk meghatározni, hogy mi pontosan a terrorizmus, és mi ellen harcolunk. Nincsen egységesen elfogadott terrorizmusdefiníció sem a nemzetközi büntetőjogban, sem a tudományos kutatásokban. A kérdés, hogyha egységesen elfogadott definíció hiányában a terrorizmust tipologizáljuk, jelzőkkel illetjük, vagy fejlődését hullámokban határozzuk meg, pontosabb képet kapunk-e a terrorizmus jelenségéről. Jelen tanulmány arra próbál rávilágítani, hogy amellett, hogy nincsen egységesen elfogadott és értelmezett nemzetközi büntetőjogi és tudományos definíció a terrorizmusra, a terrorizmus hullámai, tipologizálása vagy jelzői indokoltak-e, azok a terrorizmus meghatározásában segítenek-e?
