The Role of Military Exercise Planning Regarding the Preparation for NATO Response Operations

Abstract

The integration of NATO mission-induced operational experience into the training system of the Hungarian  Defence Forces is a high priority. The transfer of the knowledge base of operations gained from this experience  into existing operational procedures is the basis of the  current training system. In order to ensure a system of  national level preparation for NATO response operations, it  is important to create internal training platforms where  NATO exercise planning procedures can be implemented.  The aim of the present study is to interplant a NATO  mission focused exercise planning and to compile a  protocol for effectively supporting a NATO compatible national preparation and training system.
