What Is Liberty?

Abstract

Comparing Christian liberty and classic liberalism is a popular issue of public debates. The  paper considers only one part of the topic; it analyses Christian liberty from the viewpoint of the Bible and constitutional liberty in the aspect of classical liberal doctrines. The paper cannot and will not present either the liberal or the biblical standpoint of human nature in its entirety. It only aims at comparing the source, the content and the target of liberty.
