Abstract

A detailed examination of a given gas turbine engine must always be preceded by an examination of the thermal cycle  of the engine. The results of the thermal cycle calculation  can be used to solve many related problems. This can be,  for example, a further flow or strength analysis of each engine components, or the construction of a thermal  mathematical model of the engine, last but not least,  information can be obtained on the component efficiencies  related to the take-off rate of power. This provides an  opportunity to compare with other engines and to evaluate  their thermal characteristics. In this article, I performed an  analysis of the Arriel 2E engine, which was part of my thesis and was supported by my consultant. The analysis is  articularly interesting in light of the fact that these engines  were installed in H145M helicopters introduced in the  Hungarian Defence Forces.
